Youth Housing Program

The Youth Housing Program provides intensive case management for people under 25 years of age who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
We assist young people with youth specific accommodation options and case management support including:
- Information, advocacy and referrals
- Housing-focused case management
- Nominations for transitional accommodation
- Applications through the Victorian Housing Register for social housing,
- Assistance to secure and/or sustain private rentals through help with rent arrears, moving, bonds, rent in advance and tenancy advice.
We provide intensive case management to address a young person’s housing needs. This can include support with:
- Family conflict
- Family violence
- Mental health
- Education
- Employment
- Financial Issues
- Legal issues
Who is eligible?
This service is available for anyone under 25 years living in the Mount Alexander Shire and experiencing housing issues.
What is the cost?
This is a free service.
How can I get more information?
To access this service, call (03) 5479 1000. You will be offered an initial assessment with a member of our Intake team within 48 hours, for allocation to longer term case management.

In addition to housing services, CHIRP employs a team of allied health, counselling, nursing, alcohol and other drug services, family services and a wellbeing team committed to improving the social health outcomes for disadvantaged clients, and to benefit the health of the entire community.
