Nordic Pole Walking for Seniors

CHIRP Community Health has partnered with Castlemaine Community House for this Nordic Pole Walking program in the Mount Alexander Shire.

Nordic Pole Walking is a low impact form of exercise that activates 90% of the muscles in the body. This can result in toned upper arms, shoulders and back muscles. It has a greater aerobic effect than regular walking with reduced strain on the lower body.

Volunteers who have been trained by the Nordic Walking academy are leading this program. The one hour sessions include a warm up, walk and end with a cool down.
