Step out with the new Maldon Walking Group

Maldon has a new walking group which starts on November 9 and will continue weekly on Monday mornings.

Interested participants can meet outside the Maldon Neighbourhood Centre at 9.30am and then walk for about an hour. The group is in addition to the Tuesday and Friday walking groups and is for those who enjoy a gentle walk in the company of other people.

Maldon Walking Groups follow all current recommended Covid precautions.

“Anyone who enjoys being social or wants to maintain a regular exercise schedule should give the walking group a try. Our group walks somewhere new each week and this is based on the abilities and health requirements of group members. The walks are catered to suit all fitness types and will go at a pace to suit all walkers” a participant of the similar Friday walking group said.

“There are many great benefits to be discovered from joining the Monday Maldon walking group. There will be the opportunity to meet new people from within the local area and form connections with others while enjoying the fresh air outdoors. The walking group is a good way to look out for others, increase your personal fitness abilities and manage your health conditions.”

The Maldon Walking Group is a partnership project of the Maldon Hospital, Maldon Neighbourhood Centre and CHIRP Community Health. The Healthy Heart of Victoria have funded the establishment of the additional Monday group.

All are welcome to join this group and bookings are not necessary. You can find out more about the group by calling the Health Promotion Officer at CHIRP Community Health on 5479 1000.
