Ease into 2020 with Tai Chi; a gentle, low-impact exercise that can benefit the whole body.
CHIRP Community Health run weekly low-cost Tai Chi classes at Castlemaine, Guildford, Newstead and Maldon. There will also be some ‘Come & Try” Tai Chi groups at Castlemaine Botanical Gardens on January 6th, 13th and 20th at 9:30am.
“Trained instructors will lead these free “Come & Try” sessions, which are a great opportunity to find out whether you enjoy Tai Chi. This year’s classes start early in February. It’s better for people new to Tai Chi to start at the beginning of the year so they can learn the moves with others”, says Physiotherapist Janine Truscott.
“Practicing Tai Chi improves movement, flexibility, strength and balance”, says Janine. “It also helps general health, especially relaxation and posture, and reduces your risk of falls”.
