A relaxing exercise opportunity

11 January 2022

Bookings are now open for 2022 Tai Chi Groups to be held during school terms in Castlemaine, Guildford, Maldon, and Newstead. Groups will start early February.

CHIRP Community Health Tai Chi groups are led by trained volunteers who updated their skills over the summer break with training funded by Mount Alexander Shire Council’s Healthy Heart of Victoria.

Jenny Parker is a Tai Chi volunteer who attended this training and finds Tai Chi practice to be beneficial for health for all involved.

“Participants keep doing Tai Chi as it’s good for their health, and I practice it for my own health. When participants are unable to attend due to other responsibilities, they miss it terribly.”

“I have some participants who have been attending Tai Chi for five or six years now, and that’s proof that it’s important to them.”, said Jenny.

Castlemaine groups run in the Botanical Gardens on Monday mornings and evenings. There are also Friday morning groups in Guildford, and Thursday morning groups in Maldon and Newstead. A $5 donation is collected to cover venue and other costs.
